Prof. Dr. Benno Brinkhaus

Benno Brinkhaus, MD is Professor of Internal Medicine and Clinical Epidemiology. He is currently Head of the project division for Complementary and Integrative Medicine (CIM) and Head of the Charité outpatient clinic for CIM at the Institute for Social Medicine, Epidemiology and Health Economics, Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Germany. He has been the principal investigator of several projects including more than 20 RCTs in the field of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) including several acupuncture studies (e.g. the large German acupuncture trials ART and ARC trials and the ACUSAR study) funded amongst others by the EU-FP7 program, and the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG), German ministry of Research (BMBF), German ministry of family (BMFSFJ) and German health insurance companies and is member of different medical and acupuncture societies, reviewer of national and international medical journals.
